The Katrina Worsham State Farm Agency understands that life will bring unexpected changes and risks. Still, it is our responsibility to help you make intelligent decisions regarding your insurance and financial service needs. Our business philosophy is to help you feel safe, understand your insurance coverages, and feel respected in our office – precisely what we have been doing since we started in 2000.
As a robust and independent businesswoman from Newport, Arkansas, I work diligently to give back to the community that has supported me through the years. My professional mission through her agency is to help you overcome the risks and struggles of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and realize your dreams. I have learned on my own.
After graduating with a B.S. from Arkansas State University, I accepted a job with State Farm Insurance Companies in 1995. Simultaneously, I began decades of service to her country as a reservist in the United States Army. Six years later, I was appointed a State Farm agent licensed in auto, fire, life, health, and financial services. I began running my agency in South Shreveport, helping customers throughout Northern Louisiana with their insurance and financial needs.
While running my own business has kept me busy, I’ve also found opportunities to give back in other ways. I served as president of the Minority Business Council (2008), on the Central Vice President's Council in 2005, and as a Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce member. From 2009 to 2017, I worked on Louisiana's Workforce Commission, and in 2018, Shreveport Mayor Ollie Tyler appointed me to serve as the Chairperson of the City Workforce Commission. I am also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
In 2010, due to my passion for helping women discover themselves, I founded Make Me Mold Me Empowerment, Inc., officially organized on January 15, 2015. Through it, I guide self-development, setting goal, and leadership by sharing with fellow men and women our experiences and life lessons. I strive to motivate and help other women recognize their potential and live holistic lives. In 2023, I received the Non-Profit Professional of the Year Award from the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce in Shreveport, Louisiana.
On February 18, 2024, Mayor Tom Arceneaux presented a city Proclamation naming February 18th, "Katrina Diana Worsham Day" in the city of Shreveport and on February 23, 2024, United States of America and State of Louisiana Jeff Landry and State Senator Sam Jenkins honored me for the remarkable dedication for serving the community and making a positive impact in our citizen lives. Also, Caddo Parish Commission present a "Resolution of Appreciation & Recognition" on April 4th, 2024 for my dedication and handwork in the city of Shreveport towards our citizens. On February 22, 2026, State Senator Sam Jenkins recognized myself with a proclamation from State of Louisiana Senate recognizing leadership, service, and contributions to Shreveport Community.
My most recent honor was Virginia K Shehee Most Influential Woman Award on March 7, 2024. Most humbled to be the honoree for the "2015 Lifetime Achievement Award" with the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce of Shreveport and Bossier City of Louisiana. I was presented as Queen of Krewe of Harambee for the 2015-2016 Mardi Gras season. Over the years, I’ve received many accolades for my contributions, including Businesswoman of the Year, Businessperson of the Year, African American Achievement Award, two separate Small Business of the Year awards, and Athena Women's Nominate.
After 21 years of service, I retired from the Army but continued my civilian work as a successful State Farm agent and a Notary Public. My commitment to customer service and the community has aided in the growth of her business.
I am a proud mother, grandmother, sister, friend, mentor to many!!
